Dr. Sara Neilson - Veterinarian

Dr. Neilson received her veterinary degree from the Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009.

Following graduation, she completed a demanding 1-year general practice and emergency internship. Since then, she has worked in a variety of practice settings - emergency + specialty, community general practice, county animal shelter, and as a mobile veterinarian - all in the greater Sacramento region. These diverse practice experiences have provided a wide array of skills and experience. What Dr. Neilson truly enjoys most about practice is forming bonds and partnerships with pets and their families to understand their unique needs and have the opportunity to provide education and the best care for each pet and their family as individuals. Dr. Sara loves to learn, and her special interests at this time include medicine, senior pet care, palliative care, and oncology.

Dr. Neilson lives with her husband, 2 children, 1 cat and 1 dog and enjoys spending time outdoors, baking, reading and staying busy with family activities.
